AyeOS experimental developer preview — preview-2026-09-10

Target: x86_64 UEFI. This package contains the bare-metal AyeBoot/kernel pair,
not a desktop Linux installation. USB and iPXE HTTP boots reached the AyeOS
shell in QEMU. Physical Minisforum boot and native MEMNET handoff are not yet
verified. The kernel still runs IP services; the loader does not yet perform
ExitBootServices or authenticate the kernel. This is a development image.

The preview identifier is the packaging date. The included kernel reports
build 2026-08-31T05:47:43Z (a051a879); it is not a new stable release.

Verify downloaded files with SHA256SUMS. These checksums detect corruption;
they are not a signed release manifest. Secure Boot trust is not provided.
Keep important data backed up before hardware experiments.

USB: ayeos-usb.img is a 64 MiB GPT/FAT32 disk image with an offline loader and
kernel. Writing a raw image erases the selected device. Alternatively, copy
BOOTX64.EFI and KERNEL.BIN into EFI/BOOT on an existing FAT32 EFI partition,
after backing up existing boot files, preserving the disk's partitions.

UEFI shell: map -r; select the USB's actual fsN: mapping, then run
\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI. A BLK entry alone is not a filesystem mapping.

Network: use an HTTPS-capable iPXE launcher, run dhcp, then
chain https://boot.ayeos.com/releases/preview-2026-09-10/boot.ipxe
The script fetches the kernel before AyeBoot and requires its exact registered
name EFI\BOOT\KERNEL.BIN. Keep IP available through all boot downloads.
